Position Description (Summary)

Full time position managing both the internal and external communications responsibilities at Mount Hope Church and to equip the Mount Hope family and Lansing area with hope with engaging, informative, and educating materials. This includes being responsible for seeing the Pastor’s vision fulfilled in their area of oversight, reports directly to the Media Director who is responsible for overseeing the Marketing Department.

Church Responsibilities

  • Seeing the Pastor’s vision is fulfilled in the graphics area of the Marketing Department, and representing him and Mount Hope Church well, at all times
  • Helping to recruit and develop a team of volunteers, leaders, and directors who are released and empowered to minister in the areas of your oversight
  • Making the Pastor’s job easier and creating a joy-filled environment
  • Regularly attending weekly staff prayer times that occur during your normally scheduled work hours
  • Providing Bible-based answers to questions that members, attenders, and callers ask; reaching out to other pastors/employees for help with answers as needed

Marketing Director responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Marketing:

  • Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to create awareness of Mount Hope’s brand and activities to the outside public.
  • Supervise the department and create relations with other marketing professionals.
  • Plan and execute campaigns for Mount Hope promotion, launching of new events, etc.
  • Monitor progress and submit performance reports.
  • Manage content for Mount Hope’s online presence and/or editorial publications.
  • Control budgets and allocate resources amongst projects.

Communications:

  • Manage and create internal materials (screens, prints, videos, app) to inform Mount Hope attendees of available activities.
  • Create and manage scripts, emailers, and copy for Mount Hope Church.
  • Build and foster collaborative relationships with other departments and volunteers to stay informed of new initiatives, projects, and services.
  • Develop a strategic communications plan to support the Mount Hope Church mission, goals, and objectives.

Website / App:

  • Ensure website functionality and perform software updates.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on website performance.
  • Ensure domain registration and hosting are current and running.
  • Develop and/or update content including subsites.
  • Handle online marketing projects ranging from SEO to social media marketing.
  • Ensure app functionality and perform software updates.

Photography:

  • Manage and coordinate volunteers.
  • Capture pictures for promotional materials and of the life at Mount Hope Church.

Social Media:

  • Create graphics/videos for posts, design, and/or photos.
  • Create and administer content calendars.
  • Write language and content.

Management:

  • Oversee graphic design and communication staff
  • Preform quarterly reviews
  • Create and manage projects and training materials for upcoming interns and/or volunteers.
  • Teach hands-on training in design and website tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design related field or 5+ years of marketing and graphic design experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Must be proficient Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom). Will be trained on Bitrix24, Planning Center, and ProPresenter.
  • A heart and passions to serve other team members.
  • A teachable attitude that desire to learn and discover more.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Photography and video experience highly preferred.
  • Must have a passion for design detail, style, and an eye for typography with strong layout and design skills.
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance, both independently and in collaboration with other team members and departments.
  • Work successfully in a multiple project, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in web design preferred.
  • Marketing savvy, creative, and forward thinking—can think outside of the box.
  • Intuitive research abilities and problem solving.
  • Excellent organization skills & attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and enthusiasm.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
