Future Opportunity: Strong performance this summer could lead to a full-time role at SWYFT after graduation. Not guaranteed, but the door is open for the right person.
About SWYFT Solutions
SWYFT Solutions exists to help businesses drive innovation. Our niche is educating and implementing the future of engineering technology. We serve technically minded startups and forward thinking companies who want a partner, not a reseller.
Three things make us different:
- Partnership-first, with a focus on the future. We invest in our clients for the long term, not the transaction.
- Shared perspective and depth of expertise. We've sat in our clients' chairs. We know what engineering and manufacturing teams actually need, and we bring real expertise across SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Simple, clear, scalable processes built on the right technology. We don't just sell software. We help clients build systems that grow with them.
We run on EOS. We move fast. We hold each other accountable. We expect our team to raise the bar every day.
Read This Before You Apply
You will be the first intern in SWYFT's history. That comes with two realities you need to understand before you apply.
The good: Real ownership. Real work that ships to real customers. Direct exposure to the people running the company. The chance to help shape what an internship at SWYFT looks like for everyone who comes after you. And if you crush it, the conversation about a full-time role after graduation is real.
The honest: No formal intern program. No cohort of other interns to lean on. No detailed playbook waiting for you on day one. We are a small team that moves fast, and we need someone who can take an objective, build the plan, and run with it.
If you need a structured program with daily hand-holding, this isn't the right seat. If you want to build something real on a team that will treat you like a teammate, keep reading.
Our Core Values
These aren't posters on a wall. If these don't describe how you operate, this isn't the right seat for you.
- Own the Outcome. Your best work. Reputation matters. Raise your hand early. Do what you say, by when you say.
- Seek First to Understand. Ask the right question. Diagnose before you prescribe. Find the one thing. Assumptions are expensive.
- Add Value Always. WOW, every time. Leave it better than you found it. Raise the bar. Minimum is not your standard.
- Build Forward. Start with the future. Act today. Progress over comfort. Improve daily.
The Bigger Picture You're Stepping Into
We have an aggressive inbound lead target this year, and our marketing engine is the system that drives it. You won't just be executing tasks in a vacuum. You'll have a seat at the table to give feedback on the strategy, help refine the plan, and own real pieces of the execution that move us toward the number. The work you do this summer will directly impact our pipeline.
What You'll Own
- Content Project Management. Run the content engine. Pull subject matter from our sales, marketing, and technical teams. Interview internal experts. Turn raw expertise into blog posts, social content, and website pages. Keep the production pipeline moving so content actually ships.
- Internal Interviews and Content Capture. Sit down with our technical team and AEs to extract their knowledge. Ask the right questions. Take a 30-minute conversation and turn it into a blog post, a LinkedIn carousel, a short video, and a website update.
- Social Media Execution. Plan, draft, schedule, and publish content across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and other channels. Build monthly content calendars. Track engagement and report what's working.
- Website Updates. Build and maintain landing pages, product pages, and blog posts in Squarespace. Improve site UX, page load, and on-page SEO.
- Content Production and Repurposing. Help produce blog posts, case studies, customer stories, and short-form video. Edit, repurpose, and distribute content across channels. Maintain brand voice and visual standards.
- Campaign Support. Support email campaigns, webinars, and live events with copy, graphics, landing pages, and follow-up sequences. Help drive measurable contribution to our inbound lead targets.
- Strategy Feedback. Bring fresh eyes to our plan. We expect you to challenge assumptions, point out gaps, and surface ideas the team hasn't thought of. Your perspective matters here.
- AI-Powered Efficiency. Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, and others) to move faster without sacrificing quality. We're looking for someone who knows how to leverage AI to multiply their output, not someone who hides behind it.
- Marketing Operations. Keep the marketing calendar, asset library, and content approval workflow organized inside HubSpot and Notion. Document what we do so the next person can pick it up.
- Reporting. Pull weekly performance numbers (social, web, email, leads) into a clean scorecard the team can read in 30 seconds.
Non-Negotiables for This Seat
The right person for this seat is:
- Self-motivated. You don't need to be told what to do every day. You take an objective, plan the work, and execute. When you finish a task, you ask "what's next?" before anyone has to ask you.
- Obsessively organized. You use a system. You stick to it. Nothing falls through the cracks. Your manager doesn't have to remind you about deadlines, drafts, or follow-ups.
- A clear communicator. You raise your hand early when you're stuck. You don't disappear, and you don't ship sloppy work to hit a deadline.
- Comfortable interviewing experts. You can sit down with a technical engineer or an AE, ask sharp questions, and walk away with usable content.
If you're strong in social media and content but weak on these traits, you will struggle in this seat and so will we. Be honest with yourself.
You'll Thrive Here If You...
- Already run social channels (personal, club, side project, or past internship) and have receipts you can show us.
- Can build a clean, on-brand web page without needing hand-holding.
- Have strong taste. You can tell the difference between a great post and a mediocre one, and you'd rather skip a post than ship a bad one.
- Use AI tools to work smarter and faster.
- Treat deadlines as commitments, not suggestions.
- Want to actually learn how a business works, not just check a box.
- Get energy from working independently and figuring things out.
Required
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program (marketing, communications, business, design, journalism, or related field preferred but not required).
- Demonstrated experience running social media. Bring examples. Personal accounts, club accounts, past internships, freelance, all count.
- Comfort building and editing web pages (any platform). We use Squarespace.
- Strong written communication. You can write a clean LinkedIn post, a tight email, and a polished blog draft.
- Working knowledge of AI tools for content (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar). You know how to prompt well, edit AI output critically, and use it to move faster.
- Project management chops. You can keep multiple workstreams organized without daily check-ins. We use HubSpot and Notion. We don't care what tools you've used before, only that you can pick ours up fast.
- Able to be in our Grand Rapids, MI office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
- U.S. work authorization.
Nice to Have
- Experience with HubSpot (CRM, CMS, marketing hub).
- Squarespace experience.
- Graphic design skills (Figma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Video editing experience. We use CapCut, but whatever you've used works as long as you can ship.
- Familiarity with SEO basics and tools (Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs).
- Interest in engineering, manufacturing, design software, or B2B SaaS.
What Success Looks Like at the End of Summer
- A consistent flow of high-quality content shipped across blog, social, and website.
- A documented content calendar and approval workflow that runs without you when you leave.
- Measurable contribution to our inbound lead and traffic targets.
- A portfolio of real work you can show in any future interview.
- A team that misses you when you're gone.
- For the right person, a real conversation about what comes after graduation.
