MARKETING MANAGER
Rhinory is a unique destination winery and rhino reserve in the Texas Hill Country. We are seeking an entrepreneurial and mission-driven Marketing Manager to lead and execute our comprehensive marketing strategy. This role is responsible for reinforcing our luxury brand identity, driving growth across all direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels, and amplifying our powerful conservation mission.
The ideal candidate blends creative vision with strong analytical skills, excelling at developing measurable campaigns that drive both wine sales and brand engagement.
Key Responsibilities1. E-Commerce Platform & Digital Strategy
- Platform Ownership (Commerce7 & WordPress): Serve as the E-Commerce Platform Manager. This includes managing all product SKUs, accurate pricing, promotions, coupons, etc. within Commerce7 (C7) and managing content updates, events, and core site functionality within WordPress.
- Email Marketing: Own the email calendar and execute targeted campaigns using Mailchimp for promotions, new releases, and holiday gifting, focusing on revenue generation and club conversion.
- Merchandise Management: Manage online and in-store merchandising design and presentation for all non-wine retail items, ensuring accurate pricing and compelling displays that reinforce the brand and mission (e.g., holiday ornaments).
- Content Creation: Manage the creation of all marketing assets, including photography, short-form video (reels), tasting notes, and promotional copy, ensuring strict adherence to brand guidelines.
- SEO/SEM: Develop and monitor basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies to increase organic traffic and site visibility.
2. Campaign & Promotion Execution
- Calendar Management: Develop and manage a detailed annual marketing calendar (events, new releases, seasonal offers, and holiday gift sets) across all channels (email, social, web, tasting room).
- Promotion Development: Collaborate with the Managing Director and Wine Club Manager to structure profitable and appealing promotions (e.g., Texas Wine Month, Holiday Gift Sets) that drive high Average Order Value (AOV), including merchandise bundling.
- Tasting Room Support: Ensure the Tasting Room (TR) team has the necessary support and collateral (e.g., signage, talking points, print material) to execute floor promotions effectively, including merchandise spotlights and cross-selling opportunities.
3. Event Marketing & Collateral
- Event Collateral: Design and manage all print and digital collateral (signage, programs, menus, displays) for internal events (e.g., member parties, dinners) and external activations (e.g., Fredericksburg Food and Wine Fest).
- On-Site Support: Assist in executing marketing elements at major on-site and off-site events (e.g., Galas, festivals) to ensure premium brand representation and consistency.
4. Brand Management & Conservation Mission
- Brand Voice: Ensure consistent communication of the Rhinory brand identity, luxury positioning, and core conservation message ("Sip Wine. Save Rhinos.") across all public platforms.
- Public Relations/Partnerships: Manage and cultivate relationships with external media, influencers, and local businesses to secure earned media and collaboration opportunities.
- Mission Amplification: Develop compelling storytelling content around our rhino ambassador, Blake, and our work with partners like the International Rhino Foundation (IRF) and Care for Wild.
5. Social Media Management & Community Engagement
- Social Strategy: Serve as the Social Media Manager. Plan, schedule, and execute engaging content across primary social platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok), focusing on increasing followers, engagement rates, and driving traffic to the website.
- Community Management: Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and external reviews (Google, Yelp, etc.) to maintain a high level of customer service and brand reputation.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, preferably within the wine, hospitality, luxury, or DTC e-commerce sectors.
- Proven experience managing email marketing platforms (Mailchimp strongly preferred).
- Expertise in Commerce7 (C7) as an e-commerce platform manager
- Demonstrated experience with WordPress for website content and promotional management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an ability to capture a sophisticated, mission-driven brand voice.
- Proficiency in content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) for basic design and asset resizing.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to report on key metrics (e.g., open rates, conversion rates, social engagement).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The Marketing Manager's success will be measured by performance against the following metrics:
- E-Commerce Revenue Growth: Year-over-year growth in direct online sales (including merchandise).
- Email Conversion Rate: Percentage of email recipients who click-through and purchase.
- Website Traffic: Growth in organic and direct website visitors.
- Tasting Room Traffic: Growth in visitation to the winery.
- Social Engagement Rate: Measured by interaction volume (likes, comments, shares) relative to follower count.
- New Wine Club Leads: Quantity and quality of leads generated through marketing campaigns.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
