Job Overview:
The Marketing Manager is a hands-on, highly independent role responsible for owning the planning, execution, and performance of marketing initiatives supporting FirstService Financial (FFI) programs, including insurance and financial services.
This role requires a leader who can set direction, prioritize work, and drive initiatives end-to-end with minimal prescriptive guidance. The Marketing Manager is expected to move seamlessly between strategic thinking and execution, including writing, research, briefing, reporting, and cross-functional coordination.
Success in this role depends on independent ownership, strong judgment, and the ability to reduce complexity for stakeholders and partner teams.
Your Responsibilities:
Strategic Ownership & Program Leadership
Independently define goals, audiences, success metrics, and execution plans for assigned FFI programs- Translate business objectives into clear, actionable marketing strategies and roadmaps, documented in writing and communicated clearly to stakeholders, including goals, audiences, sequencing, timelines, and success metrics
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and decision points; escalate early with recommended solutions
- Drive initiatives from concept through delivery, measurement, and optimization
Content Development & Execution (Hands-On)
Personally develop and/or oversee creation of briefs, messaging frameworks, and written content- Write and edit articles, email copy, social copy, training materials, and presentations
- Conduct research and synthesize insights to support strategy and content development
- Maintain ownership of quality and outcomes, even when delegating execution
Communications, Channels & Promotion
Own promotional strategy across email, website, SimplrHUB, training platforms, and social channels- Proactively identifying promotion and amplification opportunities (when, why, and how), not only executing requested deliverables
- Develop and maintain editorial and promotional calendars aligned to business priorities
- Ensure timely closure and documentation of all deliverables
Measurement, Reporting & Follow-Through
Define success metrics for programs and campaigns upfront- Track performance and report outcomes clearly and consistently
- Translate results into insights and recommendations for next steps
- Close the loop with stakeholders through written summaries and updates
Project Management & Operating Discipline
Use Asana for planning, status, and follow-through- Independently prioritize workload and manage competing demands without reliance on constant direction
- Simplify requests, timelines, and approvals for partner teams
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner effectively with FFI leadership, training, compliance, and design- Proactively clarify approval paths and sequencing to avoid rework or delays
- Minimize disruption to partner teams by operating with clear plans and complete information
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or B2B content roles
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, business, English, marketing, communications, advertising, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience owning initiatives end-to-end with minimal oversight
- Exceptional writing, editing, and briefing skills (AP style preferred)
- Strong strategic thinking paired with hands-on execution capability
- Proven ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage complex workloads
- Experience with project management tools, SharePoint, marketing platforms (HubSpot a plus), and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Comfort working in regulated, complex, or compliance-sensitive environments
