Sharp Cookie is a boutique marketing consultancy serving growth-minded law firms across the U.S. We run two fractional CMO programs and a small but active marketing mastermind on Substack.

We’re looking for a Marketing Operations Manager who can keep client projects running smoothly, support content production, and help maintain a high-quality client experience.

This is a hybrid role combining project management, junior-level copywriting, content planning, vendor coordination, and community support. You’ll work directly with the CEO/CMO and act as an essential part of a lean, fast-moving team.

Role Overview

The Marketing Operations Manager owns the day-to-day execution of client and internal marketing projects. This includes managing project boards, coordinating with vendors and client teams, drafting marketing content, assisting with content planning, and supporting our Substack-based mastermind community.

You do not need to be a senior strategist. You do need to be highly organized, proactive with communication, comfortable juggling multiple client projects, and capable of writing clear first-draft marketing copy.

Key Responsibilities

1) Client Marketing Team Liason

  • Meet with client marketing teams to review ongoing and upcoming projects
  • Clarify responsibilities, deadlines, and expectations
  • Update project boards with tasks, assets, documentation, and notes
  • Assign tasks and deadlines for clients, vendors, and internal collaborators
  • Tag the CMO for approvals and feedback where required
  • Follow up consistently to ensure deadlines and deliverables stay on track

2) Vendor Coordination

  • Lead meetings with SEO, PPC, social, and other marketing vendors
  • Communicate issues, changes, and new project requirements
  • Update project boards with vendor tasks and timelines
  • Ensure vendors deliver on expectations and deadlines

3) Substack Mastermind Support

  • Serve as first-line customer service for mastermind members
  • Assist with light content creation for Substack posts
  • Publish content provided by the CMO
  • Announce new meeting times via our mastermind Slack channel
  • Create surveys after live meetings
  • Act as a moderator during mastermind live sessions
  • Post to our mastermind Slack channel twice weekly

4) Project Management

  • Keep all client and internal projects moving to completion
  • Ensure all project boards are updated weekly
  • Notify the correct people of pending tasks and due dates
  • Provide weekly status reports to the CMO
  • Maintain clarity, communication, and accountability across all clients

5) Junior Copywriting

(Create first drafts; CMO provides final edits and direction)

  • Draft short-form social media copy
  • Draft landing page copy following provided outlines
  • Draft ad copy for paid campaigns
  • Review content from client teams and offer feedback
  • Iterate content with guidance from the CMO

6) Junior Content Planning

  • Create drafts of content plans for clients and Sharp Cookie
  • Build basic templates, spreadsheets, and planning tools
  • Develop 3-month content calendars for:
  • Client email newsletters
  • Client social media channels
  • Sharp Cookie social media
  • Coordinate content implementation with the Digital Marketing Specialist and client teams

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible hours & remote work
  • Paid tome off
  • Direct work with the CEO/CMO (great opportunity for skill growth)
  • A stable, supportive environment without agency burnout culture
  • Opportunities to learn advanced marketing, copywriting, and operations skills

Who Will Succeed in This Role

You will thrive if you:

  • Are naturally organized and detail-oriented
  • Enjoy managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Can communicate clearly and professionally with clients and vendors
  • Can write clean, clear first-draft marketing copy
  • Like working in a small team where your work is visible and meaningful
  • Are comfortable receiving direction and improving through feedback
  • Are proactive and take ownership without needing constant oversight

Requirements

  • 1–3 years experience in marketing, project management, agency coordination, or related role
  • Experience drafting marketing copy (social, ads, landing pages, email, etc.)
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to follow brand direction
  • Experience working with project management tools (ClickUp, Asana, Trello, or similar)
  • Experience interacting with clients or vendors
  • Strong communication and follow-through
  • Comfortable with multi-client workflows

How to Apply

To be considered, you must submit both:

  • A resume
  • A cover letter explaining why this role is a fit for you

Applications without a cover letter will not be reviewed.
