Job Summary:

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for advancing the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Arkansas by strengthening the organization’s brand through data-driven strategies, creative storytelling, and strong community relationships. This role supports the development and execution of strategic marketing and communications initiatives that promote program impact, support volunteer and youth recruitment, and drive fundraising success. The position oversees brand management, social media strategy, public relations, and marketing content while ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.


Requirements:

  1. Baccalaureate degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, or a related field. 
  2. Experience in the nonprofit sector and/or social media management strongly preferred.
  3. Must have proven successful interpersonal relationship skills to maintain effective and satisfactory working relationships with other agency department staff, vendors, clients, and community partners.
  4. Ability to follow oral and written instructions with the ability to read, interpret, and present information efficiently and effectively.  
  5. Must be able to give presentations and participate in public speaking.
  6. Maintain confidentiality of clients with tact, respect and discretion.


Other:

Primarily an office position. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds. Some local travel may be required with normal exposure to traffic hazards. Some out of town travel may be required. Some evening and weekend work will be required to meet customer needs. 


Essential Job Responsibilities:

Brand Management and Content Creation

  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all platforms, materials, and workspaces throughout the service area.
  • Create compelling content for marketing collateral, including brochures, newsletters, impact reports, and promotional materials.
  • Manage and enhance the organization's storytelling efforts by capturing and sharing powerful stories of impact.
  • Oversee the organization’s website, ensuring content is engaging, up-to-date, and optimized for user experience.

Public Relations and Community Engagement

  • Write and distribute press releases, media kits, and other communications to enhance public awareness.
  • Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, media interviews, and community partnerships to amplify the organization’s presence.
  • Collaborate on the agency’s marketing campaigns, such as “Paint The Town Green.”

Social Media and Digital Advertising

  • Develop and manage content for digital platforms, including social media, email and blogs.
  • Manage and grow the organization’s social media presence across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
  • Engage with online audiences, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to keep marketing efforts competitive and effective.


Fundraising and Event Support

  • Collaborate with the Advancement team to ensure fundraising campaigns and events drive donor engagement, ensure sponsors feel recognized, and contribute to overall fundraising success.
  • Support corporate partnerships and donor relations by creating sponsorship packets, donor impact reports, and promotional materials.
  • Support ticketing process and attendee experience for organizational events.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain detailed records of marketing activities, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and engagement data, to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant marketing, advertising, and data privacy regulations.
  • Update contact records in CRM systems to ensure accurate records, reporting, and relationship management.
