PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Marketing Specialist, in collaboration with the VP of Marketing, plans, executes and monitors marketing campaigns across various channels to drive brand awareness, advertising and promotional efforts. Their main duties include building social media campaigns, creating marketing campaigns, developing promotional materials and completing clerical and administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive, other duties may be required and assigned.
- Monitoring and managing the company’s social media platforms, adjusting outreach tactics as needed
- Responsible for graphic design projects from concept and design to production.
- Complete projects related to branding, content creation, and social media marketing
- Assist management with the preparation of campaigns and reports
- Collect performance metrics to measure progress
- Works closely with the Vice President of Marketing to create collateral, promotional and advertising pieces for print, web, social and event projects.
- Ensures consistency in the visual representation of the brand.
- Assists branch offices with displays, promotions and marketing materials.
- Updates the public website and Intranet site to ensure that content is accurate.
- Maintains and restocks inventory of marketing materials and supplies, including but not limited to brochures, envelopes, and company promotional items. Coordinates distribution of inventory to branches and departments according to their needs.
- Supports and participates in promotional events, representing the credit union.
- Follows internal compliance procedures for advertisements, marketing materials and events.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Advertising or related field, or at least 2 years’ experience in desktop publishing, creative development, and business social media coordination. Or any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
- Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good listening and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Computer literate.
LANGUAGE ABILITY
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as regulatory rules, trade literature, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees of the organization or before the Board of Directors.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency using data processing software as well as Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience in software platforms related to social media management, website management, and graphic design are also necessary.
