Under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for the District’s digital media content, website management, and managing the District’s social media platforms, in addition to the District’s photography and video. The position also assists with the development of public information and marketing strategies for the District and conducts outreach and community engagement. This is a non-exempt, hourly position that requires flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, Graphic Design, or related field. Possess an understanding of marketing and advertising principle. Experience in community outreach, marketing, digital media, content creation, and social media management. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Graphic design experience utilizing Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and social media platforms is a plus. Photography and videography production skills preferred. Experience writing engaging copy. Highly organized, detail-orientated and professional. Must have the ability to work on several projects at one time in a fast-paced environment. Valid Illinois Class “D” driver’s license is required. CPR required within six months of employment.
