Position Title: Mason

Department: Construction / Site Operations

Location: Various Project Sites

Reports To: Site Engineer / Foreman / Construction Manager

1. Position Summary

The Mason is responsible for performing masonry works on construction projects, including blockwork, plastering, tiling, concreting, and finishing tasks. The role requires strong technical skills, accuracy, and adherence to quality and safety standards on-site.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Masonry & Blockwork

• Lay concrete blocks, bricks, and stones for walls, partitions, and structures.
• Prepare mortar, leveling, and alignment of blockwork as per drawings.
• Cut, shape, and fit blocks using hand tools and power tools.

B. Plastering & Finishing

• Perform internal and external plastering works with smooth and rough finishes.
• Apply protective and decorative coats of cement render or gypsum plaster.
• Ensure surface preparation before plastering (wetting, cleaning, leveling).

C. Tiling & Flooring

• Install ceramic tiles, marble, granite, and interlock tiles.
• Prepare surfaces, apply adhesives, and ensure accurate leveling and spacing.
• Cut tiles using manual and electric tile cutters.

D. Concrete Works

• Assist in mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete.
• Repair and patch concrete surfaces where required.

E. Site Coordination

• Read and interpret construction drawings and work instructions.
• Coordinate with carpenters, steel fixers, and other trades as needed.
• Report material shortages or site issues to the Foreman.

F. Tools & Equipment

• Proper use and maintenance of tools such as trowels, levels, hammers, chisels, and mixers.
• Ensure tools are clean, functional, and safely handled.

G. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all site HSE rules, permit-to-work procedures, and company safety policies.
• Wear required PPE at all times (helmet, gloves, boots, safety glasses).
• Report unsafe practices, hazards, and incidents immediately to the HSE Officer.

3. Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Mason in construction projects.
• Strong experience in blockwork, plastering, tiling, and concrete repairs.
• Experience in infrastructure, buildings, or civil engineering projects is preferred.

Skills

• Ability to read basic drawings and understand levels and measurements.
• High accuracy in leveling, alignment, and finishing.
• Knowledge of materials, mixing ratios, curing processes, and finishing techniques.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work.
• Comfortable working at heights, scaffolds, and outdoor conditions.

5. Additional Notes

• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and in remote project sites as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED1,100.00 - AED1,300.00 per month
