Company: At Cobalt Truck Equipment, we specialize in constructing custom, fully equipped trucks tailored to the unique needs of its clientele. Whether serving the construction, utility, or heavy equipment sectors, Cobalt has earned the trust of industry professionals who rely on their mechanics trucks, lube trucks, utility bodies, platforms, and more.

Summary: The Master Scheduler is the single point of accountability for the executable layer of Cobalt’s monthly Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) cycle, spanning five truck assembly and upfit centers. You will build and own the nationwide Master Production Schedule (MPS), translating the 0–3 month demand plan into a frozen weekly schedule that drives production, materials, and shipping.

This role ensures every custom truck exits the bay on time and at committed cost—serving as the authoritative source of truth across the network

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a cost-optimized MPS aligned with demand, inventory targets, and capacity.
  • Enforce a uniform frozen zone across all sites, while enabling local execution flexibility.
  • Collaborate with plant managers, supply chain, and sales to resolve cross-site issues in real time and to anticipate demand shifts and adjust schedules proactively
  • Monitor and report key production metrics (e.g., schedule adherence, throughput, capacity utilization), highlighting risks and recommending actions.
  • Continuously optimize network load plans to reduce interplant freight, balance labor, and protect On-Time Delivery.
  • Lead improvement initiatives focused on cycle time, inventory, and cost optimization.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling and cost data in Excel.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in production scheduling, preferably in automotive or truck upfitting industries.
  • Familiarity with custom manufacturing environments and low-volume/high-mix production.
  • Expertise in capacity planning, material requirements planning, and resource allocation.
  • Strong understanding of lead times, inventory control, and supply chain dependencies.
  • Ability to balance customer deadlines with production efficiency.
  • Excellent analytical skills for resolving scheduling conflicts and bottlenecks.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with production, procurement, and sales teams.
  • Ability to negotiate priorities and manage changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred Skills
:

  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or ADP Workforce Manager).
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, and Just-In-Time (JIT) principles.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and bill of materials (BOM).
