Master Automotive Technician
Phil’s Service – Killeen, TX
Phil’s Service is seeking an experienced Master Automotive Technician to join our ASE Blue Seal Certified repair facility. We are looking for a highly skilled professional with exceptional diagnostic abilities who can accurately diagnose and repair today’s complex automotive systems. This position is ideal for a technician who takes pride in solving difficult problems, values honesty and quality workmanship, and wants to work in a professional, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics on domestic and import vehicles.
- Diagnose complex drivability, electrical, engine performance, transmission, steering, suspension, brake, HVAC, and electronic system concerns.
- Utilize factory scan tools, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, pressure testing equipment, and other advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Develop accurate repair plans based on diagnostic findings.
- Complete repairs correctly the first time while maintaining high quality standards.
- Perform inspections and document vehicle conditions using Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) software.
- Clearly communicate diagnostic findings and repair recommendations to service advisors.
- Stay current with changing automotive technology through ongoing training.
- Assist and mentor less experienced technicians when needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional automotive repair experience (more preferred).
- Strong advanced diagnostic skills are required.
- Ability to diagnose difficult intermittent electrical and drivability problems.
- Experience with CAN Bus, network communication systems, and advanced vehicle electronics.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and factory service information.
- ASE Master Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Own professional tools required.
- Excellent work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience
- Advanced electrical diagnostics
- Engine performance diagnostics
- Diesel diagnostics (a plus)
- Hybrid and electric vehicle experience (a plus)
- Air conditioning diagnostics and repair
- Steering and suspension diagnostics
- ADAS calibration experience (preferred but not required)
