Material Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Material Engineer with a solid background in Quality Control (QC) within Building projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and approving construction materials to ensure they meet project specifications, Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), international standards, and client requirements. The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:

Key Requirements:

• Engineering degree.
• Experience: minimum of 10 - 15 years.
• In-depth knowledge of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and international standards.
• Proven ability to prepare and review material submittals and technical documents.
• Practical experience in material inspections and laboratory testing.
• Strong communication and coordination skills when working with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• UPDA certification is an advantage.
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and submit material submittals, technical data sheets, and prequalification documents in accordance with project specifications.
• Assess and verify materials to ensure compliance with project requirements, Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), and relevant international standards.
• Liaise with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to confirm material selections and resolve any technical queries.
• Supervise inspections and material testing both on-site and through approved third-party laboratories.
• Maintain accurate records of material approvals, test results, and quality control documentation.
• Coordinate with procurement and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to site.
• Support the construction team by providing technical expertise on material and quality-related matters.
• Monitor adherence to QA/QC policies, procedures, and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate actively in quality audits, inspections, and site meetings.
