Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Material Engineer to join a dynamic project team in Qatar. This role is central to the design, construction, and consultancy of complex infrastructure projects, with a focus on ensuring material specifications meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. The successful candidate will leverage 15+ years of expertise, particularly within the healthcare sector, to contribute to a 36-month project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Material Design & Specification: Develop and review technical drawings, material selection, and specifications for construction projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, local (Qatar) and international standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO, BS).
• Consultancy Services: Provide expert advice on material performance, sustainability, and compatibility for hospital infrastructure projects, including HVAC, structural systems, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) components.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Conduct material testing, root-cause analysis for defects, and ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards, QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications), and HSE protocols.
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and project managers to resolve technical challenges and optimize material solutions for cost, durability, and safety.
• Project Management: Oversee material lifecycle from procurement to installation, ensuring timelines and budgets are met without compromising quality.
• Training & Documentation: Supervise junior engineers, maintain technical records, and contribute to knowledge transfer within the team.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/ Mechanical/ Materials Engineering (BSc).
• Experience: Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including consultancy roles in design and construction. Prior involvement in Qatari hospital projects is strongly preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of material science, construction methodologies, and compliance with Qatari standards (e.g., QCS, GCC codes). Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM, and project management software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project) is essential.
• Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification is a plus.
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work in multicultural teams and adapt to evolving project needs.
• Language: Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications (Qatar Focus):

• Familiarity with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and sustainability initiatives (e.g., Estidama, LEED).
• Experience working with Qatari governmental agencies or healthcare institutions.
• Knowledge of local labor laws and project execution practices.
