MATERIAL HANDLER

We are looking for Material Handlers across all three shifts. First shift schedule is Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm; 2nd shift is Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11pm, and 3rd shift is Monday - Friday, 11pm - 7am.

You will make an impact in this role by:

The work of a material handler is to handle all types of material coming in and going out of the factory or warehouse. The material handler also needs to ensure that materials are placed in their proper position and are available for use where they are needed.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Take care of loading and unloading of the material from the trucks
• Check that proper quantity is being given and received by comparing the quantity with that on the invoice
• Use simple equipment for moving material for example forklifts
• Handle the necessary documentation while receiving or sending materials
• Ensure that proper quantities are kept for each type of stock item
• Know the right place in the factory or warehouse floor where every item should be stored

Skills and Attributes

• Physical stamina to be able to walk around the floor area
• Know how to sort and classify things
• Be able to use simple machinery for moving materials
• Be able to work in a loud, noisy and congested environment
• Have basic skills to record payment and issue proper documents while receiving and giving material
• Have knowledge of safety standards

Education and Experience

• High School or GED diploma required.

Safety and Personal Protective Equipment

• Must adhere to all safety rules in force for the location you are in while performing your job responsibilities. This includes at a customer or supplier location.
• Must meet requirements for PPE in specific manufacturing areas when you are in those areas including safety shoes and safety glasses.

Position Benefits:

• 1st Shift hours are 7 AM to 3 PM
• 2nd Shift hours are 3 PM to 11 PM
• 3rd Shift hours are 11 PM - 7 AM
• Hourly rate for this position is $18.50/hr. There is a shift differential for 2nd shift of $1.00/hour and 3rd shift of $1.50/hour
