As a Material Planner, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the seamless flow of raw materials and equipment capacity to meet customer requirements, production schedules, and company objectives. You’ll manage purchasing, inventory control, and material planning processes to optimize operational efficiency, maintain compliance, and support on-time delivery.
What You’ll Do
Scope: Plant-specific role with approximately 80% office-based and 20% floor presence.
Champion Safety: Act as a safety leader, prioritizing safety in all activities.
Manage Raw Material Procurement: Oversee purchase orders for films and resins, verify lead times, and ensure readiness for customer ship dates.
Maintain Accurate Records: Update SAP and internal/external PO logs; distribute updates to relevant stakeholders.
Optimize Inventory: Apply FIFO principles, manage aged inventory reports, and prepare monthly charts for leadership.
Coordinate Material Transfers: Facilitate raw material movement between plants and collaborate with corporate procurement for interplant support.
Resolve Inventory Issues: Troubleshoot material location discrepancies and ensure accurate SAP data entry for production schedules.
Support Production: Work closely with resin handlers and coordinate inbound/outbound logistics with rail partners.
Drive Material Management: Oversee raw material schedules, requisitions, and allocation of oversize stock.
Manage Claims: Handle raw material claims from initiation to closure.
Collaborate Across Teams: Participate in production meetings, provide KPI updates, and lead WCOM initiatives for cost savings and process improvements.
Provide Backup Support: Serve as backup for other planning and scheduling roles as needed.
Control Inventory Levels: Establish and maintain min-max inventory thresholds for purchased and manufactured raw materials.

What We’re Looking For
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field OR equivalent experience.
3+ years of scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment, including inventory management.
Knowledge of purchasing/accounting processes and basic business acumen.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems.
Preferred:
Experience with SAP, Ariba, or similar ERP platforms.
