Seaman Corporation is seeking a Material Specialist to join our Wooster Shipping/Receiving team! This position will report to the Procurement Manager in Wooster.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Specialist will be responsible for the safe, smooth, and efficient flow of material and supplies through the plant, shipping and receiving materials from vendors and to customers, and for all paperwork necessary for shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Will assist and take direction from the Procurement Manager to ensure all areas of responsibility run efficiently.
Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00am to 3:00pm, on-call every other Sunday
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assists in the daily activities of the department including all Shipping/Receiving and Warehousing functions.
  • Prepares customer orders for shipment
  • Loads and unloads shipments
  • Monitors and maintains warehouse inventory
  • Coordinates material movements
  • Performs cycle counts
  • Creates internal transfers
  • Reviews Kanban, packaging, and raw materials replenishment
  • Prepares purchase orders and distributes to vendors and originating internal departments
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ year of experience in Procurement and/or Shipping/Receiving
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Forklift/Hand truck experience
  • Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Oracle experience
