Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA/QC & Material Engineer to manage quality assurance and control activities specifically within our central construction materials store and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities

Material Inspection & Testing:
Conduct inspections and tests of all incoming materials (e.g., concrete, steel, aggregates, MEP materials) to verify compliance with approved technical specifications, project requirements, and quality standards. Coordinate with third-party laboratories for independent material testing as needed.

Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare, review, and maintain comprehensive QA/QC documentation, including material submittals (MARs), inspection reports (MIRs), test certificates, and non-conformance reports (NCRs). Ensure robust document control and record-keeping procedures are followed.

Quality Management System (QMS):
Implement and monitor the company's QMS procedures in the central store, ensuring adherence to ISO 9001 standards. Assist during internal and external quality audits.

Supplier & Subcontractor Coordination:
Liaise with suppliers, procurement teams, and project engineers to resolve quality-related issues, verify manufacturer certificates, and ensure timely material approvals.

Storage & Handling:
Monitor material handling, storage conditions, and calibration records for all inspection/measurement equipment to prevent damage or non-compliance.

Corrective Actions:
Identify non-conformances, investigate root causes, and recommend and track effective corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a QA/QC or Material Engineer role within the construction industry, ideally with experience in a central store or supply chain setting.

Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing methodologies, quality standards (ISO 9001), and local building codes/regulations.

Skills:

Proficiency in preparing QA/QC plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and method statements.

Strong organizational, communication, and reporting skills.

Ability to interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and test results.

Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, project management software)
