Materials Coordinator – Emergency Department Support

Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. | No on-call | No weekends


At Novant Health, our Materials Coordinators play a vital behind-the-scenes role in patient care. In this entry-level position, you’ll directly support our Emergency Department by ensuring the clinical team have the right supplies and equipment exactly when they need them.

This role offers a consistent weekday schedule — 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., no on-call and no weekends — allowing for strong work-life balance while making a meaningful impact every day.

What We're Looking For:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED, required

Experience:

  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferred

  • Experience in inventory, logistics, or related functions, strongly preferred

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment

  • Prolonged standing with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, and stooping

  • Good visual acuity and manual dexterity

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and move objects weighing 21–50 lbs

  • Ability to perform repetitive data entry and learn inventory control software

  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Experience using pallet jacks, dock boards, and hand trucks

What You'll Do:
  • Serve as the main point of contact between Supply Chain and the Emergency Department

  • Provide day-to-day support and customer service to ED nurses and providers

  • Monitor supply levels and keep inventory accurate and up to date

  • Set up and restock specialty carts, kits, and medical equipment

  • Help with receiving deliveries and stocking supplies for the Emergency Department

  • Make sure supplies are organized, fully stocked, and easy to access in a fast-paced environment

  • Use inventory software to track supplies and enter information accurately
