Position Summary
The Scheduling Coordinator is an integral part of the Dispatch & Customer Service team and operates as the primary contact for coordinating the delivery of aggregates to ready mix production facilities. This position is responsible for maximizing efficiencies and ensuring internal demand is met related to aggregate orders through effective communication with vendors and internal partners.
Requirements

Communicates effectively with internal customers and vendors

Troubleshoots scheduling conflicts related to raw materials or other issues

Responds to calls from internal partners in a timely fashion

Ensures adequate supply of aggregates to all ready mix plants while maximizing efficiencies

Confirms details of scheduled orders prior to shipping

Makes adjustments to shipment plan in case of contingencies

Analyzes data to monitor performance and plan improvements

Answers questions regarding schedule from Operations and Sales staff

May assist with cement and fly ash scheduling

Responsible for district logistics customer service and on-time delivery performance

Works with Accounting, as needed, to verify accuracy of freight billing and reconciliation

Manages information within the transportation management system

Creates reports as directed by management

Trains employees as needed

Minimum Education and Experience
-
High School or GED equivalent required. B.A./B.S. degree in related field preferred

Professional Ready Mix or Cement experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

3 years of related experience

Physical Requirements
Physical requirements include lifting/carrying up to 5 pounds from ground to waist, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity, repetitive motion, standing, sitting (must be able to sit for up to 4 hours at a time), walking, climbing stairs, and driving capabilities.
Working Conditions
Environment varies between air-conditioned office environments and occasional outside assignments that may include all weather conditions such as heat or cold, wet or dry. Incumbent may be exposed to plant dust, sand, gravel, and diesel exhaust on a limited basis. Incumbent may occasionally have to work outside of normal business hours via laptop and mobile phone.
