Materials Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Materials Engineer with expertise in Material Characterization and Lifing to support material selection for advanced engineering projects. This role requires applying material science knowledge to recommend cost-effective engineering and manufacturing solutions, ensuring design objectives are met efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Material Science, Mechanical, or related field)
• 4–6 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of material science concepts, practices, and procedures
• Experience with advanced material characterization techniques
• Ability to interpret technical data and apply engineering judgment

Key Responsibilities:

Material Characterization:

• Perform detailed analysis of materials including metals, polymers, and composites.
• Use advanced instrumentation and techniques (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR) to evaluate properties.
• Interpret microstructural and compositional data to assess performance.

Lifing Analysis:

• Evaluate material life expectancy and degradation mechanisms for specific applications.
• Conduct accelerated life testing and environmental exposure assessments.
• Develop and validate predictive models for material lifespan.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
• Ensure documentation complies with industry standards and regulations.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

• Work with engineers, project managers, and design teams to guide material selection.
• Participate in technical meetings and project planning.
• Stay current with material science advancements and recommend process improvements.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $64.00 - $66.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
