The Materials Management Manager ensures the efficient operation of all storerooms, PAR levels, and associated perpetual inventories. This includes supervising Supply Technicians in addition to Inventory and Receiving Clerks.

These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.

  • Work closely with the Hospital staff to maintain all storeroom and department supplies
  • Conduct a physical inventory on an annual basis
  • Conduct monthly Cycle counts that equal 10% of inventory items
  • Supervise compliance of storage regulations and guidelines as defined by policy, regulatory directives, and accrediting agencies recommendations
  • Maintain inventory turns as defined by departmental goals
  • Review requisitions for standardization and contract opportunities
  • Work with departments to establish and maintain PAR levels, both stock and non-stock
  • Familiarize with accounting practices as those relate to asset inventories, purchasing, and receiving
  • Work collaboratively with Purchasing to ensure that orders are accurate and timely. This includes after the fact billing, contract management, and consignment replenishing.
  • Work collaboratively with the Supply Chain Analyst to maintain accurate reorder points
  • Supervise the shipping and receiving function for CRMC
  • Ensure that the receipt is put away and that delivery of goods is done in a timely and efficient manner that supports the use of technology and organizational goals
  • Interact on a daily basis with Purchasing to ensure that orders are submitted and reconciled
  • Engage clinical and nonclinical staff regularly to determine items for PAR levels and items appropriate to be stored on site
  • Serve on committees as assigned by leadership
  • Exemplify excellent customer relations towards patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers
  • Hold subordinates accountable for conformity to the hospital’s philosophy and policy for promoting positive work and customer environments
  • Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services
  • Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care

Reports to: Director, Supply Chain Management

Supervises: Supply Technicians, Inventory Clerks, and Receiving Clerks

Minimum Required Education: Associate Degree and relevant health care supply chain experience

Preferred Education: BS BA or related field

Prior supervisory experience
