The Materials Manager / Material Engineer is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of construction materials, inventory, and supply chain operations within the warehouse and project sites. This role ensures the timely procurement, storage, and distribution of materials in alignment with project specifications, engineering standards, and operational requirements. The position also supports architectural and engineering teams by ensuring material quality, compliance, and availability.
Key Responsibilities

Manage daily warehouse operations, including the receipt, inspection, storage, and dispatch of construction materials.

Monitor and control inventory levels to meet project demands while minimizing excess stock and material waste.

Coordinate closely with procurement, architectural, and engineering teams to ensure materials meet project specifications and are delivered on schedule.

Review material submittals and ensure compliance with project requirements, technical standards, and quality expectations.

Oversee the issuance of materials to project sites, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and timely delivery.

Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies.

Implement efficient material handling and storage systems to optimize warehouse space and improve workflow.

Ensure all materials comply with safety standards, sustainability guidelines, and relevant regulations.

Supervise warehouse staff, providing training, performance evaluation, and leadership to maintain high operational standards.

Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory turnover, material utilization, and supply chain efficiency.
Job Knowledge & Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in
Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering

Minimum 3 years of professional experience

At least 2 years in a relevant materials or construction-related role

GCC experience is a plus

Strong knowledge of construction materials, material properties, and engineering specifications.

Understanding of architectural and engineering material requirements and standards.

Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems (preferably SAP).

Solid background in inventory control, logistics, and supply chain coordination.

Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills for coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in construction and warehouse operations.
