Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Materials Planner to join our team in Ladson, SC. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, analyzing, and maintaining an attainable level of finished inventory by scheduling production and assembly lines as well as coordinating component deliveries. The Materials Planner will work closely with plant production personnel and customers daily to ensure an ideal flow of materials is available for production, minimizing downtime and optimizing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain appropriate levels of finished inventory through effective scheduling.
Coordinate production and assembly line schedules to meet demand and inventory targets.
Schedule and monitor component deliveries to ensure timely availability of materials.
Collaborate daily with plant production personnel to align material availability with production needs.
Communicate with customers to understand demand and adjust planning accordingly.
Analyze inventory data and production schedules to identify and resolve potential bottlenecks.
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, production schedules, and material movements.
Review sales to forecast product levels and provide necessary metrics for tracking actual sales to forecast.
Set schedules and communicate them to appropriate personnel.
Review finished goods inventory levels and maintain workable levels to ensure all shipments can be made to customers.
Review component inventory levels and maintain workable levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
Work with the shipping department to verify accuracy of shipments.
Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction of shipments.
Perform additional duties as needed and assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
Proven experience in materials planning, production scheduling, or related roles.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, both written and oral.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Buyers, Warehouse personnel, Production Managers, and Supervisors.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and production planning software, especially strong SAP or similar program experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with a good understanding of Excel.
ISO experience is preferred.
Self-starter with strong initiative, judgment, and problem-solving ability.
Education and Experience
Minimum Requirement: High school diploma and 4 years of planning experience.
Preferred: College degree with 1 or more years of planning experience.
Working knowledge of manufacturing maintenance is required. The individual will be responsible for leading maintenance systems, overseeing continuous improvement of the manufacturing process, and executing long-term strategic plans.
Must be self-motivated and possess well-developed leadership skills.
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic instructions and required documents. Must be able to respond and communicate complicated instructions and basic directions effectively.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematics.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Strong analytical skills, initiative, judgment, and problem-solving ability are essential.

Work Environment

Normal amount of sitting and standing, above average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.

Reports to Materials Manager.
Will work primarily with Tier 1 and OEM Customers.
Will work closely with Buyers, Warehouse Supervision and personnel, Production Manager, and Supervisors.
Will communicate regularly with CEO and Operations Manager.
Has regular communication through email, phone, and fax with various suppliers and customers.
