Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Materials Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse operations and materials handling, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of materials within our facility. This role is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the overall logistics of our operations.

Patient Safety

Education & Development

· Maintains all necessary licensure and certifications without management follow-up.

· Participate in all necessary departmental/hospital-wide educational offerings.

· Attends unit/department staff meetings.

· Completes quarterly and annual education as necessary without management follow-up.

· Provides active feedback to supervisor to enhance the effectiveness of the position.

Care Delivery (clinical Specific)

· Assesses patient status/needs and adapts to provide individualized care.

· Appropriately documents required information.

· Maintains department equipment and supplies as assigned.

· Adheres to code procedures.

· Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.

· Store and organize materials in designated stock areas, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO/FEFO).

·Deliver supplies, equipment, and materials to hospital departments in a timely manner.

· Maintain accurate inventory records using hospital inventory management systems.

· Assist with cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.

· Operate material-handling equipment

· Monitor stock levels and notify supervisor of shortages or urgent supply needs.

· Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety regulations.

· Assist in managing consignment items, sterile supplies, and medical equipment as needed.

· Provide excellent customer service to clinical and non-clinical staff requesting supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Coursework in supply chain management or healthcare materials preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in materials management, supply chain, or warehouse operations; healthcare experience preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and processes.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy materials safely.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, inventory systems).
  • Customer service and communication skills.
  • Certifications (preferred): Supply chain or materials management certifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
