Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive math lessons covering topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, differential equations, and higher education mathematics.
- Develop and refine curriculum materials that align with educational standards and cater to varied learning styles.
- Utilize modern learning technology tools to enhance instructional delivery and student understanding.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and informal evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Mentor students individually or in small groups to reinforce concepts, improve problem-solving skills, and boost confidence in math.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to active participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, instructional design, and educational best practices; participate in professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Proven classroom management skills with experience in teaching or tutoring math at various levels.
- Strong knowledge of core mathematical disciplines including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, organic chemistry (if applicable), biochemistry (if applicable), genetics (if applicable), molecular biology (if applicable), microbiology (if applicable), cell biology (if applicable), differential equations, discrete math, and research laboratory experience.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and instructional design principles for effective lesson delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
- Experience in curriculum development, standardized testing preparation, private school settings, special education accommodations, or Montessori methods is a plus.
- Ability to engage students through mentoring and research-based teaching strategies; experience in higher education teaching is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills including lesson planning, proofreading of instructional materials, and managing multiple priorities within a classroom setting. Pay: $63,840.39 - $76,883.05 per year
