Math Tutor

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Math Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching mathematics and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for children with learning differences. This role involves working closely with students grades K through 12 and in one-on-one and small group settings. Our goal is to enhance their understanding of mathematical concepts through evidence-based, structured approaches.

Schedule/Location

• The ability to travel to homes or libraries within San Mateo County.
• Available after school.
• Available on weekends is a plus.

Requirements

• Certified or trained in math intervention programs (msense, Making Math Real, Singapore Math, etc.)
• Bonus: An understanding of dyscalculia.
• Experience working with students in a 1:1 or small group setting.
• Strong skills in lesson planning and behavior management.
• A genuine passion for teaching and helping students succeed academically in mathematics.
• Undergraduate degree

Duties

• Develop and implement engaging math lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary to meet diverse learning styles.
• Foster a love for mathematics by incorporating fun and interactive activities into tutoring sessions.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.

Pay: $100.00 - $130.00 per hour
