Mathematics Tutor (Grade 1 – IB Curriculum)

Job Description

We are looking for a committed and experienced Mathematics Tutor to support a Grade 1 student following the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). This role requires the tutor to be based in the Manama region, as in-person sessions will be conducted at the student’s residence within this area. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that build early numeracy skills and encourage inquiry-based learning in line with the IB curriculum.

The tutor will play an essential role in helping the student develop confidence in numbers, patterns, operations, and problem-solving through interactive and child-friendly teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging math lessons aligned with the IB PYP Grade 1 curriculum.
• Teach foundational concepts such as counting, shapes, patterns, measurements, and simple operations.
• Use hands-on activities, visual resources, and inquiry-based approaches.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents.
• Maintain a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
• Ensure punctuality and consistency in scheduled sessions.

Requirements

• Must be located in the Manama region for in-person tutoring (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Early Years, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience teaching or tutoring young learners (Grade 1).
• Knowledge of the IB PYP framework is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for early childhood learning.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit the child’s learning style.
