Mechanical Engineer – Construction (Qatar)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our construction team in Qatar. The role involves design review, site supervision, coordination, and execution of mechanical works in compliance with project specifications, QCS standards, and local authority requirements. The Mechanical Engineer will ensure that all mechanical systems are installed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and related systems
• Supervise and monitor mechanical installation works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings and QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications)
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and architectural teams to resolve design and site issues
• Liaise with consultants, clients, and authorities (Ashghal, Kahramaa, Civil Defense, etc.) for approvals and inspections
• Prepare method statements, material submittals, and technical reports
• Conduct site inspections, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations
• Monitor project progress and assist in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Identify and resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions
• Support cost control, variation assessments, and project documentation

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in construction projects within Qatar or GCC
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical systems
• Familiarity with QCS, local authority regulations, and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, BS)
• MMUP/UPDA certification is preferred or mandatory
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Leadership skills to manage subcontractors and site teams
