Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Mechanic and Shop Foreman to lead our maintenance team and oversee daily shop operations. This vital role combines hands-on mechanical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring that all equipment and vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability. Responsibilities
- Perform complex mechanical repairs on a variety of equipment, machinery, trailers and vehicles
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify issues early and implement preventative maintenance strategies
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts inventory, and service logs to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
- Oversee safety protocols within the shop, enforcing proper use of tools, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and adherence to safety regulations
- Collaborate with management to schedule maintenance activities that minimize downtime and maximize productivity
- Accept daily material delivery and communicate inventory with management
- Learn concrete and router equipment - training will be provided
Requirements
- Proven experience as a mechanic - degree or certification not required. Must be willing to become DOT certified
- Demonstrated leadership ability within a fast-paced shop environment
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical diagnostics, and repair procedures
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data accurately
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and inventory management
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and management
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift heavy equipment safely, and work in various environmental conditions
Nice-to-have qualifications include familiarity with additional diagnostic tools or certifications relevant to electrical systems. A proactive mindset combined with technical expertise will set you apart as an ideal candidate for this role.
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
