Mechanic - Freight Logistics

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Billerica, MA. This role focuses on inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of tractors and trailers, ensuring safe, reliable, and DOT-compliant operation. Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and related fleet equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues; complete necessary repairs or component replacements
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with DOT, safety, and company standards
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation
• Support shop organization by keeping the workspace clean, safe, and efficient
• Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and management to coordinate repairs and minimize downtime
• Stay informed on new tools, technologies, and best practices in diesel and fleet maintenance

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred
• 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet technician, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, brake systems, suspension components, and electrical diagnostics
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically active tasks
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
