Mechanic Helper

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Diesel Mechanic/Mechanic Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining diesel-powered trucks and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics with vehicle repairs, including oil changes, tire service, brake repair, suspension, shocks & struts, and wheel alignments
• Support the diagnosis of automotive issues using schematics and automotive electrical systems
• Prepare vehicles for maintenance by lifting and positioning them safely using hand tools and power tools
• Perform basic repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, powertrain components, and auto body repairs under supervision
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency during vehicle servicing
• Follow safety protocols and adhere to shop procedures for vehicle maintenance and repair

Skills

• Prior experience or hands-on automotive repair background preferred
• Knowledge of air brake systems, schematics interpretation, and automotive diagnostics techniques
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including powertrain, transmission, suspension, electrical systems, and auto body components
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive repair tools safely and effectively
• Ability to perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations efficiently
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team member/Manager about vehicle status and repairs
