Mechanic III

Primary Function

Under general supervision, performs skilled repair, adjustment, tune-up, overhaul and maintenance on both gasoline and diesel heavy equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school equivalency and two years as a Mechanic II or five years of progressively skilled experience in repair, adjustment, tune-up, overhaul and maintenance on both gasoline and diesel heavy equipment.

Licensing & Certification Requirements

A valid Class "A" driver's license issued by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles is required or ability to obtain within seven months from date of hire.

Veteran's Preference (External Applicants Only): Submit DD form 214 or other evidence of veterans' status by the job posting deadline.

Other Requirements/Testing

A negative drug test is required as a condition of employment.
