Mechanical Design Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with proficient knowledge in AutoCAD and SolidWorks and a minimum of 2-3 years working experience in the relevant field. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent software and 3D modelling experience using SolidWorks. You will work with design tools, perform simulations, and analyse data to support the design process throughout all stages, from conceptualization to production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design & Development: Conceptualize, draft, and develop mechanical components and systems while ensuring alignment with budget, timelines, and resource constraints.

2. 3D Modeling: Create detailed 2D and 3D models of machines, sub-assemblies, and architectural trim products using SolidWorks.

3. Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive design specifications, engineering drawings, machine manuals, reports, and presentations to support project execution and communication.

4. Simulation & Analysis: Conduct structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics simulations to assess the performance, efficiency, and reliability of mechanical systems, identifying potential design improvements.

5. Material Selection: Select appropriate materials based on strength, durability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact to optimize product quality and sustainability.

6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines to maintain quality and legal compliance.

7. Problem-Solving: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical design issues, providing effective solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.

8. Innovation & Research: Stay updated on emerging technologies, advanced materials, and modern design methodologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement in mechanical engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

- Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in the relevant field.

- Experience in designing, prototyping,tooling and developing mechanical systems and products.

- Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

- Knowledge of NX-CAD, Ansys, Creo, etc is an added advantage.

- Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Familiarity with tooling design, industry standards and regulations.

- Experience with product development in the automotive, or industrial equipment industries is a plus
