Mechanical Design Engineer

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Karachi
Industry: Engineering Services
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience: Hands-on experience of 2-5 years in switchgear mechanical design, including LV/MV enclosures, panel structures, e-houses, and busbar arrangements.

Responsibilities:
-Design, develop and review switchgear mechanical design, including LV/MV enclosures, panel structures, e-houses, and busbar arrangements.
-Design compliance and familiarity with IEC, NEMA, UL, and ANSI standards related to switchgear and enclosure design.
-Knowledge of mechanical strength analysis, fit & tolerance, and material selection (steel, aluminum, copper busbar supports, etc.).
-Understanding of ergonomics, safety, and accessibility considerations in switchgear layouts.
-Strong communication (English), teamwork, and documentation skills for effective cross-department collaboration.
-Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Fusion 360, PTC Creo, Siemens NX or Catia for switchgear mechanical design and drafting.
