Mechanical Design Engineer (Static Equipment)

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Design Engineer (Static Equipment) to join our engineering team, supporting oil & gas projects, including ADNOC-approved developments, in full compliance with international codes, client specifications, and UAE regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed mechanical design calculations for Pressure Vessels, Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers, and Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers in accordance with ASME Section VIII, TEMA, API, PED, and ADNOC specifications.
  • Develop and review General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and shop drawings to ensure constructability and compliance with project and client requirements.
  • Utilize industry-standard static equipment design software such as PV Elite and Codeware Compress for code-compliant mechanical design and analysis.
  • Coordinate closely with fabrication, production, and QA/QC teams to issue drawings in line with approved project schedules.
  • Review vendor and internal engineering documents, resolve technical queries, and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Support third-party inspections, client reviews, and ADNOC technical audits during design and fabrication stages.
  • Ensure materials selection, corrosion allowances, and fabrication details meet oil & gas service conditions.
  • Prepare and finalize as-built drawings and mechanical documentation for project handover.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in the mechanical design of static equipment for oil & gas projects.
  • Prior ADNOC project experience and familiarity with ADNOC specifications, standards, and approval processes are mandatory/strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASME, API, TEMA, PED, and related international standards.
  • Hands-on experience using PV Elite, Codeware Compress, and other relevant static equipment design software.
  • Solid understanding of materials, welding, NDT requirements, fabrication tolerances, and inspection practices in oil & gas environments.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical, documentation, and technical coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary EPC project teams.
