POSITION SUMMARY

Create and maintain Inventor 3D models or AutoCAD 2D layouts to develop installation drawings that are accurate, usable, customer specification and regulatory compliant. Provide design support to Project Engineers for large projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Layout and design mechanical systems for assigned projects
  • Prepare drawings for submittal to the customer
  • Develop an understanding of customer specifications and standards under Project Engineer guidance
  • Plan for constructability and installation of designs
  • Sizes and selects components for mechanical systems under Project Engineer guidance
  • Collaborate with others as a CAD and design resource
  • Well organized, resourceful, and planful
  • Ability to layout task in sufficient detail
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at once without losing track
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • AAS Degree in design/drafting or related field required; Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering Technology preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Highly proficient with Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor
  • Experience creating 2D and 3D drawings and models in AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor

Work Environment

The position is located in an office environment in a manufacturing warehouse setting, with controlled climate settings, and low noise. The employee may frequently visit the manufacturing production floor, with exposure to seasonal climates, odor, dust, and high noise levels.
