Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:

Our consultancy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in road construction projects. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising and monitoring the contractor’s mechanical works to ensure strict adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will play a central role in facilitating seamless project execution, providing technical guidance, and enforcing regulatory compliance. The incumbent should proactively identify issues, coordinate with various teams, and deliver detailed reports, ensuring the project progresses smoothly and meets all contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert supervision and technical oversight of all mechanical works, ensuring compliance with project drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, review work procedures, and verify the quality and safety of all mechanical installations.
• Review and approve contractor submissions, including method statements, shop drawings, and test reports, ensuring they meet project standards.
• Identify potential issues or deviations early, communicate concerns clearly to contractors and internal teams, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Maintain high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and quality control, actively promoting safety practices on-site.
• Prepare accurate and comprehensive inspection reports, progress updates, and documentation of site activities and issues.
• Collaborate effectively with civil, electrical, safety, and environmental teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Attend project meetings, provide technical recommendations, and support resolution of interdisciplinary issues.
• Monitor construction progress against schedule, analyze risks, and recommend mitigation measures to prevent delays.
• Assist in managing project documentation, ensuring all records are current, accurate, and accessible.
• Ensure all mechanical works are compliant with local regulations, Saudi standards, and client requirements.
• Take ownership of issues, demonstrate proactive problem-solving, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in supervising mechanical works within roads or infrastructure projects.
• Prior work experience with an engineering consultancy is essential.
• Professional Engineering license (PE) or equivalent preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and construction practices.
• Excellent supervisory, communication, and team coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple site activities.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of problem-solving under pressure.
