As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be the technical expert designing, improving, and troubleshooting gearboxes and mechanical power transmission systems. This is a hands-on role where you’ll balance design in SolidWorks with field support and direct collaboration with customers and our service teams.
You’ll play a critical part in helping customers improve production reliability while gaining career-long development opportunities through AGMA courses, manufacturer-specific training, and mentorship from senior engineers.
Duties
- Design and develop gear, power transmission systems, and related mechanical systems and components using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo.
- Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot engineering issues and implement effective solutions.
- Create detailed schematics and drafting documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Provide field support: troubleshooting equipment, supervising installs, and supporting breakdown emergencies
- Utilize FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to evaluate design performance under various conditions.
- Collaborate with project teams on project scheduling to ensure timely delivery of engineering solutions.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles in design specifications.
- Engage in system design activities, including the integration of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and Arduino systems.
- Perform simulations using Simulink and MATLAB to validate designs.
- Ensure adherence to ASME codes & standards throughout the design process.
- Support processes by providing mechanical knowledge and guidance on operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2–7 years of mechanical engineering experience (gear, rotating equipment, pulp/paper, oil & gas, or heavy machinery industries preferred)
- Experience in gear design, materials selection, or machine shop processes a strong plus
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, KISSsoft, Creo) and experience with drafting tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and system design methodologies.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques and problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), LabVIEW, and Arduino is a plus.
- Knowledge of quantum engineering concepts is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
