The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, planning, and executing mechanical maintenance activities across various building facilities. The role includes managing HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical systems to ensure reliable operation, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, plan, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and pumps).
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnose mechanical issues to ensure all systems operate efficiently.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and facility management teams for smooth operations.
- Prepare maintenance schedules, reports, and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Ensure all mechanical maintenance activities adhere to Qatari health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Review and recommend improvements for system performance and energy optimization.
- Manage spare parts inventory, maintenance tools, and ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Provide technical support for new facility development and renovation projects.
- Lead a team of technicians and provide on-the-job training and performance evaluation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in mechanical maintenance within facility management or building services.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and drainage systems.
- Familiar with CAFM systems and maintenance management procedures.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple maintenance activities.
- UPDA/MMUP certification is an advantage.
- Experience in large-scale commercial, residential, or mixed-use buildings in Qatar.
