Job Description
- Design and analysis:Design and size piping systems, ensuring compliance with standards like ASME and API. Perform complex analyses, including pipe stress analysis using software like Caesar II, and flange/nozzle calculations.
- Technical documentation:Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and data sheets. Maintain project documentation, such as reports, calculations, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Material selection:Collaborate with the team to select appropriate materials based on factors like pressure, temperature, and corrosion resistance.
- Project oversight:Assist in project planning, bid evaluation, and procurement phases. Oversee construction and installation activities, and work with contractors.
- Quality assurance and maintenance:Support quality control activities through inspections and tests. Troubleshoot equipment failures, conduct maintenance, and perform repairs on existing systems.
- Site work:Perform site surveys and may be required to work in outdoor or remote locations during construction and inspection phases.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD.
- Experience with engineering analysis software like Caesar II.
- Strong understanding of piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and material science.
- Effective communication (written and verbal).
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Collaboration and teamwork abilities.
- Self-motivation and a proactive approach to project management
