Position Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment used in water and wastewater treatment plants. This role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on project experience, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants (pumps, piping, valves, tanks, filters, etc.).
• Prepare and review technical AUTOCAD drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities.
• Collaborate with process, electrical, and civil engineers to ensure system integration and performance.
• Conduct site inspections, equipment testing, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend effective corrective actions.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment procurement and installation.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and as-built drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in water or wastewater treatment projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software.
• Familiar with piping design, pump selection, pressure vessel design, and related mechanical systems.
• Understanding of relevant ISO and relevant standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or in progress (a plus).
