A leading manufacturing organization is looking for a proactive hands-on Continuous Improvement / Engineering Technician to drive initiatives in production, maintenance, and capital improvements. This role is centered on creating and applying innovative solutions, enhancing equipment reliability, and supporting daily operations through effective troubleshooting and process optimization. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on both immediate improvements and larger capital projects.
Create, develop, and implement innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement across production and maintenance activities.
Define project parameters, develop solutions, and source the necessary materials for implementation.
Offer technical support to maintenance and operations teams, utilizing a hands-on approach to resolve equipment and system issues; contribute to a smoothly running operation.
Work with the engineering team on significant capital projects, including upgrades and new equipment installations.
Refine, improve, and standardize production and maintenance methodologies and processes to boost efficiency and reliability.
Aid maintenance teams by identifying and fixing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
Oversee contractors and external service providers to ensure projects are safely completed on schedule and within budget.
Monitor project budgets, timelines, and documentation, and maintain detailed project records.
Keep the Project Manager informed with regular updates on progress, potential issues, costs, and schedule changes.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience as an Engineering Technician.
At least 2 years of engineering experience or more than 5 years of relevant technical experience if you do not have a degree.
Demonstrated ability to navigate and utilize various computer platforms and technical systems.
Extensive hands-on field experience with a strong focus on troubleshooting.
Ability to operate autonomously while fostering effective collaboration within cross-functional teams.
Practical knowledge of design and drafting software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Circuit Design tools.
Experience in machine and equipment design involving electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Solid grasp of compliance, safety protocols, and quality assurance standards in a manufacturing setting.
Prior experience supporting continuous improvement, reliability enhancements, or capital equipment projects.
