Mechanical Engineer – Facility Management

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in Facility Management to oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems within commercial, residential, or industrial facilities. The candidate will ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operation of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical infrastructure while supporting energy efficiency and cost optimization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical systems including HVAC, chillers, boilers, pumps, compressors, and plumbing systems

Ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance of all mechanical equipment

Supervise facility operations, ensuring minimal downtime and uninterrupted services

Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for maintenance and repair works

Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives

Prepare and manage maintenance schedules, reports, logs, and documentation

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, statutory requirements, and local authority norms

Conduct regular inspections and audits of mechanical systems and facilities

Support project execution, renovations, and system upgrades within the facility

Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance budgets

Respond to emergency breakdowns and critical system failures

Provide technical guidance to technicians and junior engineers

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, MEP services, and Building Management Systems (BMS)

Experience in Facility Management operations

Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning

Knowledge of safety standards and statutory compliance

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics

Vendor and contract management skills

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Proficient in MS Office / CMMS software

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE / BTech / Diploma with relevant experience)
