Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to perform inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, and installation of LV/MV/HV motors, alternators, and rotating equipment. The role ensures all activities are executed in compliance with approved procedures, international standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct visual inspection of incoming motors and rotating equipment, record nameplate data, and identify physical damage or missing parts prior to dismantling.

Inspect assembly and disassembly processes, including mechanical measurements, run-outs, and condition assessments.

Provide repair recommendations in accordance with applicable international standards.

Use measuring and testing instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, dial gauges, feeler gauges, multimeters, clamp meters, and Megger testers.

Inspect bearings, seals, rotating and stationary components, including clearances and interference fits.

Supervise and inspect dynamic balancing of rotors and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Perform dynamic run tests for motors and record condition monitoring data (temperature, vibration, speed, voltage, current, oil level, flow, and pressure).

Conduct detailed vibration analysis and issue vibration analysis reports with corrective recommendations.

Perform trim balancing of motors where applicable.

Coordinate with workshop teams, clients, and contractors.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Workshop Manager.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Vibration Analysis Certification – CAT II

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role

Strong knowledge of LV/MV/HV motors, alternators, and rotating equipment

Ability to read and understand electro-mechanical drawings and symbols

Good communication and teamwork skills

Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when required
