Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Implementation team in Dubai. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the Mechanical scope of Data Centre projects. This includes end-to-end responsibility for planning, coordinating, and implementation of Data Centre facilities.

Some of the key responsibilities are as below, but not limited to:

1. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (such as Technical PMO team, operations, etc.) and external vendors / contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
2. Oversee the commissioning of new facilities, including hardware installation, system integration, and performance testing.
3. Ensure that all Data Centre implementations adhere to industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
4. Ensure the facility complies with safety standards and industry certifications (e.g. Uptime Institute).
5. Conduct regular inspections of work performed on-site to ensure good practice, local and international standards and the design specifications is being implemented.
6. Review and validate mechanical system designs, including HVAC, cooling systems, fire suppression, and plumbing, ensuring they meet project requirements.
7. Develop the mechanical systems including all necessary drawings, specifications, technical submissions, calculations, and descriptions of operation to construction standard.
8. Check and approve material submittals with respect to Technical Design.

Minimum eligibility requirements and key competencies:

1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, (Master’s degree preferred).
2. 7years of experience in Data Centre’s implementation and delivery, project management, with at least 5 years in Delivery / Implementation role.
3. Strong understanding of Data Centres infrastructure, including but not limited to HVAC, cooling systems, fire suppression, and plumbing, ensuring they meet project requirements.
4. Experience in Data Centers infrastructure mission critical project implementation and delivery
5. Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex data centre implementation projects.
