We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer with 7–10 years of proven experience in construction, MEP, oil & gas, industrial, or infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing mechanical engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and supervise mechanical systems and installations for construction and industrial projects.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards.
- Conduct technical evaluations, inspections, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Prepare project schedules, progress reports, method statements, and technical submissions.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and as-built documentation.
- Ensure adherence to international codes, standards, and HSE requirements.
- Manage testing, commissioning, and handover activities of mechanical systems.
- Support procurement activities by reviewing technical specifications and vendor proposals.
- Identify engineering risks and implement corrective actions when required.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical guidance to site teams.
- Optimize system performance and recommend cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure quality compliance throughout project execution.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in construction, MEP, oil & gas, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Piping, Mechanical Equipment, and Utility Systems.
- Experience in project execution, site supervision, testing, and commissioning.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and engineering software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of international standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, NFPA, ASHRAE, and ISO.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Experience in Qatar/GCC projects is highly preferred.
- Valid driving license is an advantage.
