Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for executing and supporting projects that improve manufacturing processes, tooling, documentation, and product design. This role works cross-functionally with engineering and production teams to implement solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. The successful candidate will lead hands-on efforts on the shop floor and manage technical aspects of improvement projects from concept through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support manufacturing projects focused on process optimization, quality improvements, and production support.
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and equipment to improve safety, throughput, and operator usability.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify, evaluate, and implement shop floor improvement ideas.
- Update and maintain build books, standard work instructions, and related production documentation.
- Coordinate with drafting to integrate fixture usage and updated practices into design drawings and standards.
- Assist in resolving quality and EHS-related issues linked to manufacturing processes or product design.
- Analyze production and performance data to support decision-making and improvement tracking.
- Support development of reporting tools and dashboards (e.g., Power BI) to visualize KPIs and metrics.
- Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen events, 5S activities, and root cause analysis efforts.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, process, or mechanical engineering roles.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and industrial equipment.
- Experience with SolidWorks for mechanical design and drafting support.
- Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion.
Preferred:
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with technical documentation, standard work, or build book creation.
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar business intelligence/reporting tools.
- Hands-on experience working in a production or fabrication environment.
