Mechanical Engineer – Gas Distribution Company

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Gas Distribution team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and integrity management of gas distribution networks and associated mechanical systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, review, and optimize gas distribution pipelines and mechanical systems.
• Monitor the operation and maintenance of gas distribution infrastructure.
• Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of mechanical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety procedures.
• Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, and project documentation.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on projects.
• Participate in risk assessments and emergency response planning.
• Recommend improvements to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in gas distribution, oil & gas, utilities, or pipeline operations.
• Knowledge of gas distribution networks, pipelines, pressure regulating stations, and associated equipment.
• Familiarity with applicable engineering codes and standards (ASME, API, etc.).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering software.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Valid professional engineering certification is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in natural gas distribution or utility companies.
• Knowledge of pipeline integrity management and asset management systems.
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) awareness and compliance experience.
