Mechanical Engineer Fire System

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in gas suppression systems to support the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with clean agent systems such as FM200, NOVEC 1230, CO₂, and other gas-based fire suppression systems, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, review, and prepare mechanical layouts and shop drawings for gas suppression systems.
  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of fire suppression systems including FM200, NOVEC 1230, and CO₂ systems.
  • Conduct site inspections and technical evaluations to ensure systems are installed as per approved drawings and standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams, clients, consultants, and authorities for project execution and approvals.
  • Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
  • Perform maintenance inspections and troubleshooting of installed gas suppression systems.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, civil defense regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to technicians during installation and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare work completion reports, inspection reports, and project documentation.
  • Support project planning, material selection, and system calculations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in fire protection systems, particularly gas suppression systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and fire protection standards.
  • Experience in design, installation, and maintenance of FM200 / NOVEC / CO₂ systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and basic engineering documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

  • UAE experience in fire protection projects.
  • Knowledge of civil defense regulations and approval procedures.
  • Ability to manage site work, technical documentation, and client coordination.
