Mechanical Engineer I

Salary: $60,000 – $90,000

Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support the design and development of power protection equipment, including switchboards, power distribution units (PDUs), and power panels. This role is ideal for early-career engineers who are eager to grow, contribute to meaningful projects, and collaborate across functions in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Support mechanical design deliverables (design and documentation) for new and enhanced models of power protection equipment.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver designs on time, ensuring quality and alignment with customer and project requirements.

Participate in design reviews, providing feedback and implementing modifications.

Assist in the design and release of mechanical prototypes, support fabrication, and contribute to improvement efforts following evaluation.

Lead smaller projects independently, managing engineering efforts to meet requirements.

Work with production, supply chain, service, and other business areas to ensure designs meet organizational needs.

Support product customization, lifecycle management, engineering change notices (ECN), and product optimization.

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).

2+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.

Knowledge of power protection equipment and datacenter markets.

Familiarity with electrical safety standards (UL, IEC) as applied to product offerings.

2+ years of SolidWorks CAD experience (thermal and structural evaluation).

Experience with PLM software (a plus).

Proficiency in sheet metal design, drawings, assemblies, and design for manufacturing.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with technical writing experience a plus.

Ability to manage workload while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Experience with test fixtures, switchboards, PDUs, UL 891, and UL 508 panels (a plus).
